Insurance Capital Solutions
For more than 15 years, Fortress has been a reliable provider of flexible capital solutions to the insurance industry. Our team of insurance industry specialists seeks to provide both growth equity and preferred equity investments, as well as a lender via senior secured loans and other forms of term financing.
Transactions have included:
- A minority equity investment in Nassau Re, a US based life and annuity company
- The acquisition of a runoff legacy liability company holding asbestos liabilities
- A minority equity investment in a global specialty (re)insurer and leading insurer in the Lloyd’s market
- A preferred equity investment in Harbinger Group Inc., which owned Old Mutual Life Insurance Company, a US annuity and life insurer (since rebranded to F&G)
- The formation and capitalization of a U.S. specialty managing general underwriter
- A term loan and minority equity in an advisor and consultant to insurance agencies and providers

Insurance Asset Management
Fortress manages commitments of approximately $6 billion on behalf of over 45 insurance companies globally
Insurance companies have entrusted Fortress with their private or opportunistic credit allocations for over 15 years.
These credit investments have been made across the entire capital stack from investment grade rated securities to unrated and distressed assets.
